My Career & Experience:
My work experience is well-rounded and diverse. After graduating, I started off working in a financial institution (then called Kwong Yik Bank) as a bank officer. After six years I moved on to Human Resource and have been in this filed ever since (it’s been 20 years!!)
Organizations where I learned to sharpen my HR experiences are diverse as well. Ranging from manufacturing to service industry and I also get to experience diverse management styles of local, Taiwanese, Japanese and American.
I have been in HR since 1986 and have been a HR generalist covering the entire scope that encompasses Human Resources, such as Staffing, Compensation & Benefits, Training & Development, Employee Relations and Employee Services until I joined Intel Technology as the Employee Relations Advisor, HR Legal and later became the Site Diversity manager.
With great passion in developing people through learning and development, I have taken a big move of leaving the corporate world and now commit myself fully towards facilitation and training freelancing since early 2007.
My Biography:
My parents migrated to Malaysia from Thailand way back in the 50s and I was the 1st child born in Malaysia. I could still remember during my school days (Sultanah Asma School – SAS) when at every school term holidays, my parents will pack and send us off to our grandparents home in Thailand. As such I grow up till today to still have a strong sense of belonging to Thailand, though of course I love my country, MALAYSIA.
A mother of 3 beautiful children – all are now grown-ups, I am truly proud of them and take pride as well in my ability to bring them up single-handedly!
When I’m at home, I just love to do housework (cleaning, mopping, washing and ironing – the whole lot!), especially cooking – which is my biggest passion. Cooking to me is a de-stressor. Of course I too love to travel, if time and money permits and have always wanted to go to New Zealand and Australia.
As I grow older, I now find comfort being with friends, exchanging personal and family stories, happy and sad and I am grateful to Allah that I have great friends who truly are friends in need who have always been there for me.
